    We know and recognize the spiritual benefits of gathering together in person, which is why we have chosen to have this Christmas worship service outdoors while implementing proven mitigation strategies like distancing, masking, and increased cleaning. We have been also been encouraged and inspired by the great work of the local school systems including the administrators, teachers, and coaches who have successfully modeled how to have safe, in-person gatherings for academics, athletics, and fine arts.

    The gates open at 4:30 p.m. Parking is free.

    Yes. RSVP is required for Candlelight. To maintain social distancing and ensure the safety of our guests,  you must register in advance.

    Bring a blanket or chairs for each member of your party if you plan on sitting in the Family-Friendly Field Seating. A limited number of bleacher seats will be available, but seating options will be honored on a first-come, first-served basis.

    A limited number of bleacher seats will be available. The majority of seating will be the family-friendly area on the field, so blankets and folding chairs are encouraged. Seating preferences will be honored on a first-come, first-served basis. Gates open at 4:30 p.m.


    If you need seating in the wheelchair accessible area or the American Sign Language accessible area, please choose the correlating options.

    To ensure your safety, we do ask that you wear a mask when not able to social distance.

    Concessions will not be available. You are welcome to bring you own food and drink, but large hard-sided coolers are not allowed.

    Because of the potential for wind, our Chapel Choir members will pass out battery-powered, sanitized tea lights at the appropriate time during the service. Please turn them in when you exit.

    In the event of inclement weather, Candlelight may be moved to another date or time. You will be notified via email, as well as updates on dawsonchurch.org

    For those who are unable or choose not to attend, a recording of this worship service will be available for viewing the following day at live.dawsonchurch.org. We continue to be committed to hosting safe, in-person worship services, while also providing alternatives for those who choose to participate virtually.

    • In keeping with Alabama’s statewide mandate, face masks are required upon entry and when social distancing (maintaining six feet of distance from those outside of your household) is not possible. 

    • Proper social distancing will be required in all common areas (entrances, restroom facilities, etc.). 

    • Hand sanitizer stations will be available to use on site.
